This project is a response to a deep feeling of disconnect that appears to be a widespread condition during this global pandemic and consequent lockdown. Through close attention to the moving body these recordings combine text and sound to offer the listener an opportunity to reconnect first with their own body and then to the larger world. Focus is brought to the relationship between the internal world and the external world; the physical and the non-physical. This work also arises from the practitioners' interest in the intersection between embodied research and traditional knowledge practices such as Buddhism and Daoism. It is therefore a deeply personal project that offers an opportunity for care in the present global situation. This space offers an opportunity for sharing of the practice and responses, and dares to propose a solution to widespread social breakdown by deploying available technology to enable a deep embodied journey and an ongoing co-creative and collaborative community of practice around this. The presentation will follow a format of Experience, Reflection and Interaction so as to bring a sense of liveness to the event.
A guided opportunity to pay close attention to how your body responds and moves; an invitation to use the insights from embodied practice to get an understanding in other areas of live; the space to engage with performance as research.
