Full Description:

In this particular series of seven sessions we'll be considering the name and characteristic of specific Daoyin such as 'Deep Sea', 'Dolphin Roll' and 'Growing Pine Tree' and how they provide ways for us to better connect to our landscapes and nature.

Daoyin Breathwork exercises the whole cardio-respiratory system which includes our heart / lungs and those breathing muscles that are internal and we do not see. Daoyin is sometimes called 'internal weight training' benefiting all your inner organs!

Classes can be done from a standing or sitting posture at your own pace and intensity. 'Breath is Life' and during these challenging times when our breathing is either under threat or in recovery from the virus, or we're feeling stressed or anxious - very much needed.

Take-away benefits:

* receive expert coaching so you can correctly gain ownership in order to practice at least seven Daoyin breathing exercises in your own time
* discover the holistic inter-relationship that exists through your whole body-mind-spirit that includes your movement, breath and qi (chi) energy
* discover an anatomy of breathing including the difference between breathing and cardio-respiratory function
* explore aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Taoism that relate to Daoyin such as Yin/Yang theory, 5-Element theory and the 8-Principles
* experience a felt-sense of inspiration, fairness, kinship and selflessness balancing negative emotions such as sadness and grief - feelings all associated with your Lungs in Traditional Chinese Medicine

Testimonies:

“Just wanted to say how thrilling it is to be in Alex Boyd's breathwork class. What a life saver, to have access to such powerful practices (new to me) in this time.” Julie

“I felt so energised after last night's class. I felt that I had never had anything like that class, with the breathing. And the enjoyment of it all, and of your sense of humour! It could be the Chinese, or Grief and Sadness with the Lungs, I just don't know. There are also other reasons, it would take too long to specify... And maybe it does not matter. I just know that I want to repeat the class every day this week, and I've paid, and as soon as the recording is available I will use it!” Carolyn

"Your class is awesone, I have pretty bad asthma, just got an air filterer for my space & with the breathing excercises I have noticed a great difference in my energy & the way my breath, energy & lungs feel. thankyou.” deCoy Gallerina

“I was feeling absolutely great throughout especially at the moment of the comment about the muscles tensing up as we pushed the 'buoy' down. Your reply about learning something and then forgetting it for me was simply genial. The next time we did it I realised that the palms of my hands were very warm and not, I hope, from having 'used' my muscles too much to push the 'buoy' down!  As for the picture I had 'under the water' it was of all the lithe plants moving around so gracefully, only waving curves and no 'angles'.  Renewed thanks, Harold”
