THE PERFORMANCES

Virtual Madness by Ernesto Sarezale explores mental health and ageing, gender fluidity, the impact of social media and celebrity culture and the new forms of political authoritarianism in the Western World via spoken word, lip-syncing and video.

A Ticket for the Long Way Round by Anna-Maria Amato screens a video while the performer unroll a large mat coated with blackboard paint with a red carpet down the middle and erect a red flag.  The performance invites participants to be immersed in the act of writing whilst create a poetic atmosphere in which embodiment and filmography establishes  a rich dialogue.

The Rhythm Within: In this performance, Christina Lovey reconnects to her internal rhythm
and allows it to be free, wild and spontaneous; beating her feet on the floor, her rhythms will be shared through sound and vibrations.

Big Snake Zigzagging in Me by Kyara Orlando. This performance suggests a creative relationship with life and refers to the myth of the Great Cobra (Big Snake) that permeates the Amazonian territory and represents the fertile life force that we carry within our DNA and that is perpetually creating and connecting all beings. Drawing on the symbolism of the cosmic serpent and the Earth and Water elements, this solo performance refers to the cycles of life and death by evoking nature's mysteries and our connection with it. How can we honour our humanity and step into our own sacredness when we become aware of this connection and when we allow enchantment into our lives?
