About

Jon has nearly 40 years experience as an artist, musician, dancer, composer, arranger and educationalist. He believes in the right of all to an artistic life, no matter their age or ability. Trained at Central School of Ballet, Community Music’s ‘Search & Reflect’ and the Center for Deep Listening @ Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, he loves to use the combined power of singing, sounding, moving and playing to empower, enrich and unite communities. His regular work takes him into many community settings: he is a part-time member of staff at Queens Park Community School in London, an English National Ballet Associate Artist on the Dance for Parkinson programme, and a freelance artist with Turtle Key Arts since 2007, working on both the dementia and autism strands of their rich community engagement programme.  He is honoured to be working with Intercultural Roots as a Practitioner Partner since 2020, offering Deep Listening sessions within their online program of embodied practice and being part of Constellations, Health & WELLth and Human-Nature-Connect programmes, as well as developing Listening Bodies-Questioning Voices - a Deep Listening and Feldenkrais Method collaboration with fellow IR artist Thomas Kampe.
