Day 2 of a Three-day Gathering at The Place, London - Featuring Puma Camillê

An immersive gathering that blends capoeira, ballroom, meditation, live music, and visual projections to create a sensory and ancestral experience. The proposal is for participants to engage with expanded corporeality, with an open mind, ready to receive the new —connecting with stories, movements, and sounds of resistance.

MOMENT I – Disconnection and Rediscovery (10 mins)
Facilitator: mulika
• Brief guided breathing with theta wave & caxixi soundscape
• Gentle invitation into the body’s awareness


MOMENT II – Rhythm of Resistance in Motion (15 mins)
Facilitator: Bia
• Quick warm-up via Orixá gestures
• One Itan + embodied response
• Visuals play ambiently, no full narration


MOMENT III – Capoeira Performance & Transition (5 mins)
Performer: Jhordan
• Visuals of the transatlantic passage
• Embodied capoeira as historical memory
• Seamless segue into the next phase


MOMENT IV – Capoeira & Ancestral Body (35 mins)
Facilitators: Puma Camillê & Jhordan
• Short group exploration of ginga, swing, balance
• Optional small circle practice with simplified bateria


MOMENT V – Capoeira → Vogue (10 mins)
Performer: Jhordan + collaborators
• Head bow ritual • Music shift with DJ Kai
• Fusion gesture: from one tradition to another


MOMENT VI – (Self)Recognition & Ballroom (35 mins)
Facilitators: Puma Camillê & Quântika
• One video excerpt
• Ballroom basics (posture, attitude, categories)
• Freestyle runway moments with affirming music


MOMENT VII – Vogue Language in the Body (35 mins)
Facilitator: Puma Camillê
• 3 of the 5 vogue femme elements
• DJ & projected visuals in ambient layer
• Collective improvisation rather than full breakdown

MOMENT VIII – Capoeira Roda & Celebration (35 mins)
• Short roda, mestre projections in background
• DJ-led celebration with open runway and improvisation
• Smooth transition into final expressive jam


CLOSING BALL MOMENT (35 mins)
• Prep & brief ball explanation
• Showcase: runway, face, performance (1 round each)
• Final DJ set and embodied goodbye
